Once On This Island. MJ as Villager #5

Lusher Middle School Drama Troupe performed the musical "Once On This Island" recently. Kind of like The Little Mermaid. It was a great show. Mathilda was Villager #5 and a Gossiper. She was awesome, I have to say, especially as the gossiper :) She even got to sing a few solo lines and was the right headlight of a 6 person car, hee, hee! Very entertaining!!!

A lot of singing!!

Samyra, the lead, was amazing!!

A little dancing, too.

Very proud!!

All my heart

Josh and I passed our 15th wedding anniversary recently. We have a tradition of giving each other art on our anniversary. It always falls somewhere around Jazz Fest, so the Contemporary crafts always make these purchases a little easier.

This year, first weekend, I bought this heart/lace tattoo/sewing for Josh. Since he has my heart forever and always. Made by Theresa Honeywell.

LePage bathroom renovations

"Not my house" is my mantra, but still trying to make this rental look great without spending too much.

Inspiration for my studio bath

Like this vanity idea...

Sweet.

Love.

Mose's Bar Mitzvah Project

Mose has been volunteering at The Miracle League on Saturdays this spring. This is a field at the New Carrollton baseball park at Riverview/The Fly that is especially designed for wheelchairs and children with disabilities. It is for mentally and physically challenged children who want to play baseball. Mose is a very active baseball fanatic so this project is perfect for him. His buddy's name is Kameron and they have been having lots of fun out there.

Hanging out and waiting for their turn.

The boys and the bugs.

I was lucky enough to be included in the Mayer boys lunch outing with Peter to Sal's for crawfish one day recently. (a sliver of Mark is there on the left, and well, I sort of invited myself;) Really nice to be with them all. Especially the bugs!

Community service at Second Harvest:)

We helped a big group bag 5 lbs bags of onions recently at Second Harvest Food Bank. This is one of our favorite volunteer organizations. They serve so many people.

A door opens?

Sliding walls for new kitchenette/bathroom?

The white house.

Josh and I took it upon ourselves to track down and wear down the owner of a mess of a house directly behind us on the back street of LePage. We finally came to an agreement with him and it is ours. It is a double and we are working on getting it back in a historically appropriate state to rent again.

Here it is when we bought it in February.

Quite a job.

Carpeting over old wood floors :(

New framing inside. The right side was in much better shape, so we are not changing the floor plan. The left is getting a total redo.
